Why Join?

Because becoming a member of the Daybreak PTA is a simple way to show your support for the community of Battle Ground and its children. Even if you can't volunteer your time, your membership helps keep the PTA moving, and your membership dues help to fund important projects for our school.

Types of memberships available include:

  • Individual (1 membership)

  • Family (2 adults per household)

It is a fact that the PTA cannot function without our volunteers. While membership helps fund school events and projects, it is our volunteers who keep those activities happening. The events we are working on for this year include the following:

  • Scholastic Book Fairs (September and May)

  • Payback Books (September)

  • Silver Cup Coffee Fundraiser (October)

  • Holiday Craft Workshop (December)

  • Staff Appreciation (May)

  • Box Tops, Campbell's Soup Labels, and other fundraising programs (ongoing)
  • Auctions (Baskets, Artwork)

  • PTA Board and Committee Positions

  • PTA Support (phone calls or other things that can be done from home)

  • PTA Newsletter

  • Got other ideas? Let us know!

When you fill out your Membership Form, you'll be asked if and when you will be available to get involved as a volunteer. We know that every person's schedule is different from every other person's schedule, and it may be that you cannot find time to volunteer. That is okay! Become a member anyway, and feel good about helping the Daybreak PTA do good things for our children.

Frequently Asked Questions

The following are frequently asked questions regarding membership to the Daybreak PTA. For questions and answers regarding PTA in general, click here.

  1. Am I obligating myself to anything if I join the Daybreak PTA?
Nope! You decide just how involved you want to be as a Daybreak PTA member. You can tell us about your availability when you fill out the Membership Form.

  2. Do I have to attend the general meetings as a PTA member?
Nope! Attending the general meetings is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged.

  3. I have children attending both the Daybreak primary and middle schools. Do I have to join two PTAs?
Nope! The Daybreak PTA includes all participating parents from both schools.

  4. What are Daybreak PTA membership dues used for?
Off the top, $6.50 of each membership is paid in dues to the Washington State PTA. The remaining funds help the PTA pay for project supplies, materials for special events, fees and insurance, training, web site hosting fees, printing costs, and so on. For specific financial details, become a PTA member and check out the Members Only area of the web site.

  5. Do I have to live in Battle Ground or have children attending Daybreak to become a member?
Nope! Anyone who wants to join the PTA and help support our community is welcome.

  6. I work for a company that would like to get involved. What can my company do?
By law, businesses cannot be members of a PTA. Instead, we ask that willing participants become "Supporting Contributors" that donate funds rather than purchase memberships. There is an option for this type of partnership on the Membership Form.

  7. What are the benefits of becoming a PTA member?
You mean, in addition to the warm fuzzies you'll have knowing that you're doing good things for the children of the Daybreak Schools? Okay, okay. Check this out.

  8. How do I become a member?
Complete the Daybreak PTA Membership Form, then submit your form by email or print and return it with your dues to your child's teacher or either of the school offices. You can also mail your membership form and dues to us at the following address:
